Spes Medica respiration sensors are worn on this strap. Two lengths cover the adult population: 100 cm for the great majority, 150 cm for large chest circumferences.

Two are needed per patient, one for the thorax and one for the abdomen, exactly as with the SleepSense sensors. The commonest oversight remains ordering only one.

The strap wears out faster than the sensor. It is washable and replaced independently, so a still-good sensor need not be thrown away because its elastic gave way.

A strap that is too tight restricts chest expansion and distorts signal amplitude; one that is too loose lets the sensor slide. The right setting is the one that holds without leaving a mark on the skin in the morning.
