Periodic limb movements and tremor. The piezoelectric sensor on the tibialis anterior is an alternative to surface EMG electrodes: no skin preparation, no gel, no electrode coming loose at four in the morning. In exchange it gives a movement signal, not muscle activity, and the AASM scoring rules are written for EMG.
