SAC2 adhesive conductive cream, 100 g tube

SAC2 does two jobs at once, and that is the whole point: it conducts the signal and it holds the electrode in place. Over a full night recording, the second property matters most. A purely conductive paste dries out, impedance climbs, and the electrode eventually comes loose.

It is used in place of collodion on long montages. Collodion holds better, nobody will argue otherwise, but it needs acetone to remove, it gives off fumes, and it requires the room to be ventilated. SAC2 comes off with warm water. In a department running patients back to back, the time saved at take-down is real.

What it does not do: it does not replace skin preparation. An electrode applied to oily skin will come loose whatever the paste. The sequence is unchanged: prepare with abrasive gel, degrease, then stick.

It does not attack the electrodes. This is worth checking with any paste before using it on gold cups: some chloride formulations corrode the surface and shorten the life of an expensive electrode set. SAC2 is specified as non-corrosive on surface electrodes.

External use only, and on surface electrodes. It is not intended for subdermal needles or any invasive use.
