Triple oro-nasal thermistor, reusable
Same placement, same use as the thermocouple, a different electrical principle. Two connectors to choose from depending on the polygraph: DIN 42802 or key type.

Thermocouple and thermistor do the same job and mount in the same place, but they do not produce the signal the same way. The thermocouple generates a voltage, the thermistor varies a resistance. For the polygraph that means a different input: some systems accept only one of the two.
The practical consequence is simple. You do not choose between thermocouple and thermistor by preference, you choose the one the amplifier expects. If the lab runs polygraphs of two generations, it is common to stock both.
The triple version carries the three-point principle: one oral, two nasal, so that mouth breathing is not read as an apnoea.
Two connectors are offered. The 1.5 mm touchproof DIN 42802 covers the great majority of recent systems. The key-type plug matches older headboxes and certain dedicated modules; for that one the 1450B interface cable allows a return to DIN 42802 if needed.
Like any reusable sensor it lives or dies by its cable. The breaking point is always the strain relief, where the cable leaves the sensor.
