- Description: The oral pickup takes the shape of a scoop in front of the mouth, catching oral flow even when the patient moves their head.

On a classic oro-nasal cannula the oral pickup is a simple opening in front of the mouth. It works as long as the mouth stays opposite it. When the patient turns their head, and they turn their head all night, the opening shifts and the oral signal weakens.

The scoop version widens the capture area. Instead of a point, a small scoop collects exhaled air over a broader surface, and the signal survives position changes.

The rest is identical: same tubing, same Luer fitting, same single use, and the same rule as elsewhere, namely that the cannula measures hypopnoea and the thermal sensor measures apnoea.

Two lengths, 210 cm for the lab and 60 cm for ambulatory work.
