- Description: A mildly abrasive gel that removes dead cells and the oily film before application. This is what brings impedance down, not the conductive paste.

Impedance is won at the preparation stage, not at the sticking stage. It is the point rediscovered every time a montage shows values that are too high: more paste is added, with no effect, when the problem is a layer of dead cells and sebum between the skin and the electrode.

Nuprep contains a fine mineral filler that abrades that layer without breaking the skin. Apply a small amount, rub for a few seconds with a gauze or a cotton bud, wipe, then stick.

Used in EEG as well as ECG. Same action, same purpose.
