- Description: The wear parts of stimulation electrodes. Dry felt forces the intensity up, which the patient feels before the operator does.

A stimulation electrode works through a felt soaked in conductive solution. That felt wears, dries and fouls, and its condition decides the stimulation impedance.

The symptom is recognisable: you have to push the intensity higher than usual to get a supramaximal response, and the patient finds the study more unpleasant than last time. Before suspecting the stimulator, look at the felt.

Three references, one per electrode type: FELT0320 for the STIS, FELT0620 for the STIL, FELT0720 for the bar electrode. They are not interchangeable, the geometry differs.

The replacement metal balls concern the spherical stimulation electrodes, whose surface eventually pits. The velcro straps, in 30, 55 and 100 cm, hold the STIL electrode in place on the limb.

These are few-euro parts that govern the quality of a several-hundred-euro study. They deserve to be in stock before they are needed.
