EEG caps are held from below as much as from above. The straps running down either side of the face hook onto a belt around the chest, and it is that downward pull that presses the electrodes onto the scalp.

Without the belt the straps hang loose, tension is lost, and the cap holds only by its own elasticity. Impedance shows it immediately on the high positions.

Four lengths, 40, 70, 95 and 120 cm, from infant to large adult. Taking a belt that is too long is not neutral: the excess folds over and ends up under the patient.

It is a wear part, washed and replaced independently of the cap.
