The cap solves the problem nobody enjoys: fitting time. Twenty cups placed one by one with a tape measure is forty minutes and an experienced operator. A correctly sized cap is ten minutes and positions that are reproducible from one patient to the next.

The colour code by head size is not decorative. A cap that is too large slides and the positions drift; one that is too small presses and the patient removes it during the night. Measuring head circumference before choosing remains the only step that matters.

The electrodes are tin, not silver silver-chloride. That is the usual cap trade-off: tin drifts more on a very long recording, but it cleans without precautions and costs a fraction of the price, which is decisive across twenty positions.

Gel is injected through the central opening of each electrode with a needleless syringe.
