A reusable cap is cleaned, disinfected and dried. In a department running patients back to back, several are needed in rotation, and the cleaning cycle is a workstation in itself. Dispocap removes the cycle: fit, record, discard.

The calculation is case by case. Disposable costs more per unit and less in labour, and it becomes obvious in isolation, in intensive care, or with a patient carrying an organism that should not travel around the ward.

The electrodes are pre-wired at the 10-20 system positions and the cables exit bundled, which avoids twenty wires to untangle above the bed.
