- Description: Twenty configurations from three choices: the number of channels, the patient-side termination, and the device-side plug.

This cable bundles two or three conductors in one sheath, which cuts the number of leads hanging over the bed accordingly. On a busy montage that means fewer tangles, less accidental pull, and fewer electrodes torn off during the night.

Three decisions are enough to choose. First the number of channels, two or three. Then the patient-side termination: crocodile clip for tab electrodes, touchproof socket for cups with a plug, 0.7 mm or 1 mm female depending on the electrode pin diameter, or snap stud for adhesive snap electrodes. Finally the device-side plug: touchproof DIN 42802 for nearly every system, 5-pin DIN for certain amplifiers.

The commonest trap is pin diameter. The 0.7 mm and 1 mm females look alike and are not interchangeable: a 1 mm pin forced into a 0.7 mm female damages the contact for good. Check the electrode pin before ordering, not after.

Every configuration is 100 cm. They are reusable, and like every neurophysiology cable they are stored loose: a cable wound tight around the hand eventually breaks at the strain relief.
